Vixen joining DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for season 2, but it won’t be Megalyn Echikunwoke in the role

June 8, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Following her live-action debut this year in Arrow, Vixen is set to join the roster of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow for its second season as a series regular.

TV Insider reports that actress Megalyn Echikunwoke – who voiced the character in the animated Vixen series and her live-action appearance in Arrow – will not be reprising the role, as she is currently looking at possible upcoming film projects.

Instead, the show will use its time travel elements to introduce “a new Vixen who will actually be an old Vixen… an earlier version of the character who may or may not share some sort of historical tie to Miss McCabe.”

The site also reports that Echikunwoke will continue voicing the character for her animated appearances, and the door is still open for future guest appearances in the Arrowverse should her schedule permit.
