Cult filmmaker Takashi Miike (Audition, Ichi the Killer) is set to bring Hirohiko Araki’s bestselling manga series Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure to the big screen, with Variety reporting that Warner Bros. and Toho are teaming up to produce the live-action adaptation.

The site reports that the movie will be based on the fourth part of the manga series, ‘Diamond Is Unbreakable’, and will star Kento Yamazaki as the hero Josuke Higashikata. It is slated for release in the summer of 2017.

Launching in 1987, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure has sold over 95 million copies worldwide, and has spawned several original video animations, an anime series, and several video games and light novels.
