Wonder Woman villain revealed, The Predator and Robin Hood: Origins begin filming, Keanu Reeves open to The Matrix 4 – Daily News Roundup

February 21, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Rounding up yesterday’s big news stories…

WONDER WOMAN VILLAIN REVEALED

Warner Bros. has been doing a good job of keeping Wonder Woman’s big villain under wraps, but following news this weekend that the character (who shall not be named here, if you want to avoid spoilers) will be portrayed by David Thewlis, and now we’ve had our very first look at the big bad, albeit in action figure form; check it out here.

THE PREDATOR ISN’T FOR PUSSIES

Filming on Shane Black’s The Predator kicked off production yesterday, with Black taking to Twitter to confirm that he’s aiming for an R-rating as “PG-13 is for pussies”. Black also shared a first cast photo featuring  Sterling K. Brown (The People v. O.J. Simpson), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) and Jacob Tremblay (Room). Take a look at the photo here.

FIRST LOOK AT ROBIN HOOD: ORIGINS

Lionsgate also kicked off production on Robin Hood: Origins yesterday, with some set photos arriving online to give us our first look at Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service) and Eve Hewson (Bridge of Spies) as Robin Hood and Maid Marion. You can take a look at the images here, and check out some comments from director Otto Bathurst about the film’s social relevance here.

KEANU REEVES OPEN TO MATRIX RETURN

During a promotional interview for John Wick: Chapter 2, Keanu Reeves was asked if he would have any interest in reprising the role of Neo for The Matrix 4: “The Wachowskis would have to be involved,” said Reeves. “They would have to write it and direct it. And then we’d see what the story is, but yeah, I dunno, that’d be weird, but why not?” Read our report here.
