Yvonne Strahovski to lead Peacock horror series Teacup from James Wan

February 29, 2024 by Ricky Church

Peacock has ordered Teacup, a new horror thriller series from James Wan’s Atomic Monster with Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale) in the lead role.

Teacup is based on the novel Stinger from Robert McCammon. It follows “a disparate group of people in rural Georgia who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive.” Strahovski will play a character named Maggie Chenoweth.

Teacup will be written and executive produced by Ian McCulloch with E.L. Katz (The Haunting of Bly Manor) directing the first episode and executive producing. Wan will executive produce with his Atomic Monster partners Michael Clear and Rob Hackett alongside McCammon, Strahovski, Francisca X. Hu, Kevin Tanchareon.

Strahovski is known for her roles in the Mass Effect games, Dexter, The Tomorrow War and her Emmy-nominated role as Serena Joy in The Handmaid’s Tale, which is getting ready to film the sixth and final season this spring for a 2025 premiere.
