Michael Bay tells Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fans to ‘chill’

March 21, 2012 by admin

Last week Michael Bay took to the stage at the 2012 Nickelodeon Upfront to discuss Platinum Dunes’ plans for the live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot, where his comments about his version of the Turtles being “from an alien race” immediately caused uproar amongst fans of the heroes in a half-shell – including former Michaelangelo voice-actor Robbie Rist, who went as far as accusing Bay of “sodomizing” the property in a piece over at TMZ.

Well, fear not Turtles fans, for Bay has taken to the forums on his official site Shoot for the Edit to issue the following ‘reassurance’:

“Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story. Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.“

So there you have it. No need to worry, Bay has it all in hand. Just like he did with The Transformers.
