Hugh Jackman reportedly offered $100 million for four more X-Men movies

August 12, 2013 by admin

Having headlined his second solo movie this summer with The Wolverine, Hugh Jackman will return as Logan once again next year for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, but if a new rumour is to be believed, it seems that 20th Century Fox is keen to tie down the crown jewel of its X-Men franchise for the foreseeable future.

According to the U.S. tabloid National Enquirer, Fox has offered Jackman a bumper payday of $100 million to reprise the role of Wolverine for a further four X-Men movies, and while the actor is reluctant to tie himself into a multi-picture deal, he’s said to be considering the offer. Should the report prove true and Jackman accept the deal, it would take him through to his ELEVENTH appearance as Marvel’s rage-filled mutant.

With The Wolverine passing the $300 million mark internationally this past weekend, you’d have to assume that Fox are delighted with the performance of its latest X-Men offering, so a third solo movie would come as little surprise, as would an appearance in the recently-announced X-Force, which is currently being developed under Kick-Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow.

Would you like to see Fox securing a long term deal with Hugh Jackman, or is it time for another actor to don the claws? Let us know in the comments below….
