Johnny Depp to cameo in London Fields

October 30, 2013 by admin

Johnny Depp (Dark Shadows) is filming a cameo for crime thriller London Fields, which stars Amber Heard (The Rum Diary), Billy Bob Thornton (Parkland), Theo James (Underworld: Awakening) and Jim Sturgess (One Day). An adaptation of Martin Amis’ 1989 novel, the film is a directorial debut for Mathew Cullen.

The story follows a mysterious femme fatale Nicola (Heard), who sets a plan in motion to fulfil the propehcy of her own murder. A terminally ill writer (Thornton), a lowly street hustler (Sturgess) and an unhappily married banker (James) all get caught up in her plan, which unfolds in the grimy underbelly of a dystopian London.

Depp is currently in the UK for Rob Marshall’s Disney musical Into the Woods and David Koepp’s Mortdecai. He can next be seen in Wally Pfister’s Transcendence, along with Kate Mara, Cillian Murphy, Morgan Freeman, Rebecca Hall and Paul Bettany. London Fields started shooting last month and is due to be released next year.
