Godzilla and Interstellar trailers attached to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug?

November 5, 2013 by admin

It’s been a big few weeks of trailers for next year’s biggest movies including X-Men: Days of Future Past and Captain America: The Winter Soldier and a second RoboCop trailer incoming this very week. But there is one movie that has been kept quiet by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures – the Gareth Edwards reboot of Godzilla.

After the Comic-Con footage leaked, early rumours claimed that the first trailer was going to be released on November 3rd. But that turned out to be Warner Bros. showing previously seen footage at a convention in Italy.

But a new tweet from Oleg Gaiko claims that one of his “insiders” has told him the trailer will be attached to December’s The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

“According to an international division of Warner Bros., the Godzilla trailer will be released with The Hobbit in December. #GodzillaTrailer”

When pressed on how he knew such information he responded, “WB’s reply when I asked about the Godzilla trailer: ‘Not till The Hobbit comes out.'”

He also notes that the trailer for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar will also be attached to the movie. With both movies coming from Warner Bros. studios, it almost makes sense.

But of course, this could all be unsubstantiated nonsense. And as Bruce Campbell told us about Army of Darkness 2, don’t believe anything until you hear it from the studio. Not only that, but Mark Webb tweeted (in Elvish) that the trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would appear in front of The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. So, at this point, who knows?

With the movie being less than 200 days away, we should expect to see something very soon…

Godzilla is set for release on May 16th 2014 to coincide with the monster’s 60th anniversary and features Aaron Talyor-Johnson (Kick-Ass 2), Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Ken Wantanbe (Inception).
