Taylor Kitsch on Channing Tatum / Gambit casting talk

February 11, 2014 by admin

Last year Channing Tatum (21 Jump Street, The LEGO Movie) expressed his interest in taking on the role of Gambit in a potential X-Men movie, with producer Lauren Shuler Donner subsequently stating that she’s “dying” to make it happen. Of course, we’ve already seen the Cajun card-thrower on the screen before, with Taylor Kitsch portraying the character alongside Hugh Jackman’s Logan in the forgettable X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and Kitsch has now responded to the Tatum casting talk during a chat with the Chicago Tribune.

“I would under the right circumstances,” said Kitsch when asked if he’d be up for a return as Gambit. “But if [Tatum] does it, good on him. He’ll kill it. It’s such a cool character. Whoever plays him will be a lucky guy. It is what is it, I’m not going to be like ‘Oh my God, why don’t I get to play him?’ If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be. And if not, I’ll move on. If they cast him, I wish him nothing but the best. I hope he kicks the [crap] out of it.”

Would you like to see Taylor Kitsch returning as Gambit for another outing, or would you prefer to see Tatum taking on the role? Let us know your thoughts….
