Kelsey Grammer on returning to the X-Men franchise as Beast

June 23, 2014 by Gary Collinson

During a promotional interview ahead of the release of his latest film Transformers: Age of Extinction, Collider managed to grab a few quotes from Kelsey Grammer about reprising his X-Men: The Last Stand role of Hank McCoy / Beast in this year’s mutant superhero sequel X-Men: Days of Future Past:

“Actually I called Bryan [Singer]. I bumped into Hugh Jackman and he said, ‘Oh you’re gonna be in another X-Men, mate!’ and I said, ‘No I’m not, I don’t know anything about it.’ So I made a couple of inquiries, got a hold of the script, found out that it’s primarily dealing with the past and that timeline I don’t have a place in, but I saw that at the end there was this coda where he made an appearance. I said, ‘Listen, I really wanna be involved,’ so Bryan arranged for it and I had a lovely time.”

Grammer then expressed his interest about returning as Beast in a future instalment of the series, stating that, “I hope to do another. I hope they find some way to come up with a new story that involves Beast in my timeline.”

Would you like to see another appearance from Kelsey Grammer as Beast, or is it time that Fox concentrated on the X-Men: First Class cast? Let us know your thoughts…

X-Men: Days of Future Past is out now and sees X-Men veterans Hugh Jackman (Wolverine), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique), James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Nicholas Hoult (Beast), Patrick Stewart (Professor X), Ian McKellen (Magneto), Lucas Till (Havok), Halle Berry (Storm), Anna Paquin (Rogue), Ellen Page (Kitty Pryde), Shawn Ashmore (Iceman) and Daniel Cudmore (Colossus) joined in the cast by franchise newcomers Evan Peters (American Horror Story) as Quicksilver, Booboo Stewart (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) as Warpath, Omar Sy (The Intouchables) as Bishop, Fan Bingbing (Iron Man 3) as Blink, Adan Canto (The Following) as Sunspot, Evan Jonigkeit (The Following) as Toad, Josh Helman (Mad Max: Fury Road) as William Stryker and Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) as Bolivar Trask.
