Action Lab announces Actionverse shared superhero universe

July 9, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Action Labs has announced that it is launching a brand new imprint for its creator owned superhero titles under the banner of Actionverse, which will also include a crossover miniseries featuring its top superhero characters. Things will get underway with Halloween Comicfest: Actionverse, which offers a preview of the Actionverse universe from Jamal Ingle (Molly Danger), Vito Delsanta and Sean Izaakse (Stray) and Ray-Anthony Height (Midnight Tiger), as well as the new all-ages series Action Lab: Dog of Wonder from Delsanta and Scott Fogg.

“We’d been sort of talking about it before San Diego last year and I loved the idea; It just seemed like a natural match,” said Molly Danger creator, Jamal Igle. “The idea of having Molly Danger, Midnight Tiger and Stray all connected as characters came out organically. They compliment each other as characters and at the same time bring different elements of the traditional superhero dynamic to the story.”

“Actionverse #0 gives the fans such a great snapshot of how the lives of Molly Danger, Stray, and Midnight Tiger intersect both in the past and the present,” said Midnight Tiger creator, Ray-Anthony Height. “Some very juicy backstory will be laid down in this issue. The fact that these heroes operate within the same universe will get fans of all three characters pumped for the entire event while opening the door for several superpowered characters from Action Lab’s other titles.”

“Working so closely with such talented and passionate creators that have put so much love and heart into these characters that is just inspiring and so much fun,” said Stray co-creator, Sean Izaakse. “It’s basically like creating works of art with friends who feel like you do. Not to mention it’s a blast getting to draw these characters, and seeing how they interact and form relationships has been a blast to develop and I think everyone, from fans of the individual titles as well as newcomers of all ages, will love them.”

“Action Lab: Dog of Wonder is not only unlike anything else in the diverse and thrilling Actionverse line-up, it’s unlike anything else on the rack!” exclaimed series co-writer, Scott Fogg. “It’s the family-friendly tale of Percy and his league of misfit dogs as they seek to rescue innocent dogs who have been wrongly imprisoned. One part Scarlet Pimpernel, one part Looney Tunes cartoon, it has something for everybody. Except cats. Cats will hate it.”
