Comic Book Review – Miami Vice Remix #4

July 22, 2015 by Andrew Newton

Andrew Newton reviews Miami Vice Remix #4…

Detectives Crockett and Tubbs have come back from the brink of death but the Miami drug lords may not be so lucky. Though they have the Miami PD outgunned such things matter not to Lt. Martin Castillo, a master of the Eastern Arts! The streets of Miami are about to be painted in blood by an artist in the ways of war!

Another issue of Miami Vice Remix and we get to find out the results of the action caused by the drug frenzied and near zombified Tubbs.  Last issue was quite intense with action galore and the story flowed brilliantly. In my opinion it was the best issue so far. But can this issue top it?  Quite possibly it will as we find Lieutenant Castillo in search of the drug lords after the news that Crockett gave him last episode.

Joe Casey is building up more tension and excitement as the story progresses. It’s getting to be one of my favourite reads despite my early misgivings. The artwork by Jim Mahfood is chaotic but brilliantly so.  The colours are bright and very in your face but that was what it was like in the 80’s.

Once again IDW have delivered another great issue that sucks you in to the weird remixed 80’s of Miami Vice.

Rating: 8/10
