Man of Steel 2 casting rumours begin with Mark Strong for Lex Luthor

June 24, 2013 by admin

It was widely reported a couple of weeks back that director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer had signed on to fast track a sequel to Man of Steel through development for release in 2014, and while we’re yet to hear anything official from Warner Bros., that hasn’t stopped the rumour mill from kicking off with our first Man of Steel 2 casting ‘report’.

According to CosmicBookNews, British actor Mark Strong (Kick-Ass, Green Lantern) is being eyed for another comic book bad guy, with the site claiming that Snyder has identified him for the role of Superman’s arch-nemesis Lex Luthor. Now, while this seems a plausible casting choice, considering the fact a script is yet to be written (nor officially announced), it seems way too early to be talking casting choices. Still, expect a flood of these exclusive reports in the coming weeks and months.

Man of Steel is in cinemas now, with a cast that includes Henry Cavill (Clark Kent / Superman), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Michael Shannon (General Zod), Russell Crowe (Jor-El), Kevin Costner (Jonathan Kent), Diane Lane (Martha Kent), Laurence Fishburne (Perry White), Antje Traue (Faora) and Ayelet Zurer (Lara Lor-Van).
