Marvel Studios has announced that this year’s Phase Two solo sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier will arrive on Blu-ray and DVD on August 18th in the UK (or September 9th in the States), with the film also available on Digital Download from August 1st – the same day as the theatrical release of Guardians of the Galaxy. Disappointingly though, Marvel has decided against giving us a new One-Shot as part of the special features…
Bonus content on the Blu-ray includes an audio commentary, making of featurettes, never before seen deleted scenes and a blooper reel, while the DVD features the making of featurettes and a deleted scene.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier features Marvel veterans Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Cobie Smulders (Agent Maria Hill), Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter), Toby Jones (Arnim Zola) and Maximiliano Hernandez (Agent Jasper Sitwell) alongside Cinematic Universe newcomers Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker) as Sam Wilson / Falcon, Emily VanCamp (Revenge) as Sharon Carter / Agent 13, Frank Grillo (Zero Dark Thirty) as Brock Rumlow / Crossbones, George St-Pierre (Death Warrior) as Georges Batroc / Batroc the Leaper, and Robert Redford (All Is Lost) as Alexander Pierce.
