Reg E. Cathey cast as Dr. Storm in The Fantastic Four

Well, it looks like Johnny Storm might not be adopted after all…

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reg E. Cathey (The Wire, House of Cards) has joined the cast of The Fantastic Four, signing on to play Dr. Storm, the scientist father of Johnny (Michael B. Jordan; Fruitvale Station) and Sue (Kate Mara; American Horror Story).

Filming on The Fantastic Four reboot is now underway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with Josh Trank (Chronicle) directing a cast that also includes Miles Teller (Divergent) as Mr. Fantastic, Jamie Bell (Nymphomaniac) as The Thing, Toby Kebbell (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes) as Doctor Doom and Tim Blake Nelson (The Incredible Hulk) as Harvey Elder. The film is set for release on June 19th, 2015.
