Plot details revealed for Avengers: Age of Ultron

July 17, 2014 by admin

It’s been a busy week of news for Avengers: Age of Ultron. We were lucky enough to see some footage from the movie [read the report here] and yesterday we got our first look at Ultron [see here] as well as the first set of stills [which can be seen here]. And now, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly again, we have some plot details from the mouths of Chris Evans (Captain America) and Chris Hemsworth (Thor)…

“A lot of times when Ultron starts talking, it’s beautiful,” explains Evans. “It’s really intelligent stuff. He’s out to do the things he wants to do because he’s disgusted with X, Y, and Z. You could probably sit down with Ultron and have a really intelligent conversation. He could blow your mind with his views.”

The magazine even reveals a bit of dialogue from Ultron himself:

“I know you’re ‘good’ people. I know you mean well… but you just didn’t think it through… There is only one path to peace… your extermination.”

Hemsworth went on to talk about how Ultron was created by Tony Stark as part of his Iron Legion – a team of Iron Man-inspired robots who fight crime now that he is no longer a superhero. That makes Ultron a metaphorical son for Iron Man with elements of his personality, “It’s not the good version that could’ve come from [Stark’s] intellect and personality,” Hemsworth said. “It’s the bad son.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release in the UK on April 24th 2015 and North America on May 1st 2015, with Joss Whedon directing a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (The Incredible Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Paul Bettany (JARVIS / The Vision), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), James Spader (Ultron), Thomas Kretschmann (Baron Strucker) and Josh Brolin (Thanos).
