Jeremy Renner talks Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America 3

September 29, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Having been absent from Marvel’s slate of Phase Two movies, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in May alongside the rest of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the actor has taken a moment to discuss his role in the hotly-anticipated sequel during an interview with Starplus (via CBM).

“It was fun to finally kind of discover who Clint Barton is a little bit. We have some good secrets revealed. I think everything that was great about the first Avengers, is exponentially expressed in this one. From the action, to the making fun of itself, and there’s a lot more time spent with the Avengers together, after being so separated in the first one. We’ve got some great new goodies, and some good baddies.”

There’s also been talk that Hawkeye could reunite with Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers for 2016’s Captain America 3, and Renner has spoken to The Daily Beast about the reports, calling them a “rumour” – which is strange, seeing as he’s been the one spreading them:

“Oh, that’s a rumor all right!” said Jeremy Renner when The Daily Beast asked about Hawkeye appearing in Captain America 3. “I don’t know what’s going to happen. I know it’s going to start shooting in March. I haven’t had any official conversations about doing it or not.”

Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release in the UK on April 24th 2015 and North America on May 1st 2015, with Joss Whedon directing a cast that includes Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Mark Ruffalo (The Incredible Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Paul Bettany (JARVIS / The Vision), Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Quicksilver), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), James Spader (Ultron), Thomas Kretschmann (Baron Strucker) and Josh Brolin (Thanos).
