Kate Mara offered role in Ridley Scott’s The Martian

September 18, 2014 by James Garcia

According to Deadline, House of Cards and Fantastic Four actress Kate Mara has been offered a role in Ridley Scott’s next film, The Martian.

If she accepts, she’ll join Matt Damon and possibly Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Kristin Wiig (The Skeleton Twins), who are reportedly circling lead roles. The film was written by Cabin in the Woods director Drew Goddard, based on the book by Andy Weir, and focuses on an astronaut (Damon) marooned on Mars.

The Martian hits theaters on our planet on November 25, 2015.
