Last month, Gotham star Ben McKenzie revealed that the Graysons could be heading to the Batman prequel series, with showrunner Bruno Heller subsequently stating that they’re planning a “prenatal origin story for Robin” where we’d learn how Robin’s parents met.
Well, it looks like we should expect an appearance from Dick’s mother and father in the latter half of the first season, with TV Line revealing that a casting notice is out for the characters of John Grayson and Mary Lloyd, “teenage circus performers who will figure into Episode 16 and hint at the origin of a certain Boy Wonder.”
The article also goes on to reveal that Episode 17 will introduce two new characters: “Dr. Dulmacher (aka another Dollmaker), this time conceived as a mad European scientist, and Reggie Payne, an old army buddy of Alfred’s who has gone a bit to seed.”
Gotham will return to FOX on January 5th.
