Mark Wahlberg committed to Transformers 5 (and 6)

December 19, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Back in October it was confirmed that Michael Bay will not return to the director’s chair for the fifth instalment of the Transformers franchise, but it seems that Transformers: Age of Extinction star Mark Wahlberg will be back for the next movie, and the one after that too…

“Yeah, I committed to doing a couple more,” Wahlberg told MTV during a promotional interview for his new film The Gambler. “I can’t speak for Mr. Bay, but something tells me we’ll be on the set soon.”

Previous reports have suggested that Paramount has set a 2016 release date for Transformers 5, so if that’s the case you’d have to imagine the project will need to come together quickly… beginning with a new director.
