Stephen Dorff joins Texas Chain Saw Massacre prequel Leatherface, plot details revealed

March 29, 2015 by Gary Collinson

According to Bloody Disgusting, Stephen Dorff (Blade, Immortals) has signed on to play Texas Ranger Hal Hartman in Leatherface, Millennium and Lionsgate’s upcoming prequel to Tobe Hooper’s The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

The site reports that Dorff’s character “is a a lean, mean Texas Ranger who has a vendetta against the teen boy who grows up to be Leatherface” and that “the prequel is presented as a mystery of sorts about three teenage psychopaths”, one of whom goes on to become Leatherface.

Leatherface is being directed by Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo (Among the Living) and will see Sam Strike (EastEnders) as Leatherface and Angela Bettis (Girl, Interrupted) as Mother Sawyer.
