Ed Skrein confirms he’s playing Ajax in Deadpool

As the set photos for Deadpool start to mount up (see here and here), the cast list for the movie is starting to be revealed. It was announced that several cast members had joined, but now we’re slowly finding out their characters – and now we have another one.

Taking to his Twitter account, Ed Skrien tweeted a set photo of his chair that displays the Deadpool logo and his character name to reveal he is playing the villainous Ajax in the movie.

In the comic books, Ajax was also a part of the Weapon X program with Wade Wilson and, like Deadpool, was also experimented on by Dr. Killebrew. He also boasts super strength and aglitiy – and a love of killing.

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool is set for release on February 12th 2016, with Reynolds reprising the role of the Merc with a Mouth alongside T.J. Miller (Transformers: Age of Extinction) as Weasel, Morena Baccarin (Gotham) as Copycat, Gina Carano (Fast & Furious 6) as Angel Dust, Ed Skrein (Game of Thrones) as Ajax and newcomer Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
