Dave Bautista talks Mr. Hinx role in Spectre

July 21, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Following his breakthrough role as Drax the Destroyer in last year’s Guardians of the Galaxy, former WWE superstar Dave Bautista is set to lock horns with Daniel Craig’s 007 later this year as he takes on the role of Christoph Waltz’s henchman Mr. Hinx in Spectre. Speaking to Daily Star Sunday, Bautista has discussed his role, describing Hinx as “terrifying” and “an absolute badass”.

“On the surface Mr Hinx isn’t a monster,” states Bautista. “He is very well-dressed. He is very charming. And he never forgets his manners. For me that is what makes him so terrifying. He comes across as the sort of man who holds the door open for people. But beneath that he is a highlytrained, cold-blooded killer. What I really like about him is he’s not just there to fight – he has a sense of humour with it.”

“When I first met [director Sam Mendes] to talk about the role, the first thing I said to him was that I wanted Mr Hinx to be an absolute badass,” he continues. “His response was, ‘don’t worry, Mr. Hinx is as badass as they come.'”
