Disney snaps up live-action Prince Charming script

July 7, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Having mined its catalogue of fairy tales for live-action adaptations, Disney is now looking to bring Prince Charming to the big screen, having snapped up a spec script from Matt Fogel, who previously served as an assistant to Phil Lord and Chris Miller on Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.

Described as a “revisionist take”, Variety is reporting that the project will be a comedy that takes place from the point of view of the prince’s brother who never managed to live up to his family name.

Prince Charming joins Disney’s ever-increased slate of live-action adaptations, which includes the likes of Beauty and the Beast, Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Jungle Book, Mulan, Dumbo, Tink and Night on Bald Mountain.
