Peter Francis James joins DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

September 24, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Fresh from the news that Stephanie Corneliussen (Mr. Robot) is to play Valentina Vostok in The CW’s DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Comic Book is reporting that veteran actor Peter Francis James (The Losers) has nabbed the role of Dr. Aldus Boardman, an original character who will have ties to Hawkman and Hawkgirl.

The official character description lists Boardman as “a Classics professor at St. Roch University, who has devoted his life to researching the story of Chayara (Hawkgirl) and Prince Khufu (Hawkman) and their link to Vandal Savage. Professor Boardman is our team’s only hope of finding Vandal and destroying him, so they can return home. But when the Legends learn a secret about Boardman, they insist on making him a part of their journey, only to learn the kind of sacrifice it will take to save the world.”

When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-traveling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?”

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is slated to premiere in 2016, with a cast that includes Brandon Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/Firestorm), Wentworth Miller (Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Mick Rory/Heat Wave) and Caity Lotz (Sara Lance/White Canary) alongside Ciara Renee (Law & Order: SVU) as Kendra Saunders/Hawkgirl, Falk Hentschel (Transcendence) as Carter Hall/Hawkman, Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) as Rip Hunter, Franz Drameh (Attack the Block) as Jay Jackson, Casper Crump (The Killing) as Vandal Savage, Stephanie Corneliussen (Mr. Robot) as Valentina Vostok and Peter Francis James (The Losers) as Dr. Aldus Boardman.
