Ant-Man gives Marvel its second-best opening in China

October 19, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Ant-Man finally made its way to China this past weekend, with the final Phase Two film giving Marvel its second-best debut in that market with an impressive $43.2 million opening.

Its Chinese haul has pushed the film to $454.8 million worldwide, overtaking Thor’s $449.3 million haul from back in 2011. It now looks all but assured that the film will cross the $500 million mark globally, which would make it the seventh consecutive Marvel film to do so.
