Star Wars: The Force Awakens made its way to the Middle Kingdom today, with the Disney and Lucasfilm blockbuster pulling in $32.1 million, the third-biggest opening day behind Furious 7 ($68 million) and Avengers: Age of Ultron ($33 million). Transformers: Age of Extinction also opened higher in dollar value with $36.6 million, but not in local currency.
By yesterday, Star Wars: The Force Awakens had pulled in $1.602 billion worldwide and will overtake Jurassic World this weekend to become the biggest film of 2015, and the third-highest grossing of all-time.
