Rupert Gregson-Williams composing the Wonder Woman score

November 4, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Although we’ve heard Hans Zimmer and Junkie XL’s  theme in both trailers for Wonder Woman, neither will be returning for the Amazon Princess’ solo debut, with Rupert Gregson-Williams revealing to The Playlist that he’ll be composing the score for the next DC Extended Universe release.

Speaking to the site, Gregson-Williams – whose previous scores include The Legend of Tarzan, Hacksaw Ridge and Netflix’s The Crown – said: “I am working on Warner Bros. and DC Comics’ Wonder Woman, which looks amazing!”

If you missed yesterday’s Wonder Woman trailer, you can watch it here, and be sure to check out the thoughts of our writing team in the Flickering Myth Reaction.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.

Wonder Woman will hit cinemas on June 2nd, 2017 with a cast that includes Gal Gadot (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), Chris Pine (Star Trek), Connie Nielsen (Gladiator), Robin Wright (House of Cards), Danny Huston (X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Snowpiercer), Said Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), Lisa Loven Kongsli (Force Majeure) and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead).
