Has Edgar Wright shot an Ant-Man post-credits sequence for Iron Man 3?

April 9, 2013 by admin

If you’ve been keeping up with the Iron Man 3 marketing campaign, you’ll know that Marvel Studios has been intent on spoiling a number of surprises from the upcoming solo sequel (we’ll not get into specifics here, for those of you looking to remain spoiler free), but one thing that has been kept under wraps so far is the traditional post-credits sequence(s).

Originally, it was rumoured that Iron Man 3’s post-credits sequence would set up British filmmaker Edgar Wright’s long-in-development Ant-Man adaptation (which now finally has a 2015 release date), although since then there’s been a tonne of speculation to suggest that the Shane Black-directed sequel will in fact set up next year’s big space epic Guardians of the Galaxy.

However, it appears that Edgar Wright may have let the cat of out of the bag, posting on Twitter that he’s directed a “single shot” in a summer movie, before asking his followers which movie he could be talking about… and his subsequent response seemed to confirm what most people were thinking:

Aside from ‘The World’s End’, I directed one shot in another summer movie. But which? #IProbablyWillNotTell

Yeah. Some of you got it right.

Seems pretty cut and dry right? I guess we’ll find out when Iron Man 3 opens on April 25th here in the UK.
