The sexiest shows on HBO

July 16, 2013 by admin

We look at the sexiest shows on HBO….

HBO have not only produced some of the most successful TV shows to date, they’ve also fabricated some of the most racy. Game of Thrones, Banshee, Sex and the City and True Blood are all good examples.

In fact, explicit sex scenes combined with some of the hottest actors and actresses on the planet make this particular vampire title one of the sexiest shows of all time – apprehending the minds, hearts and sexual curiosity of millions of viewers, and that’s before we’ve got to the main event: Bill Compton, a 173-year-old vampire played by the handsome Stephen Moyer.

Then there is Sex and the City, set in possibly the lewdest city in the world. The daring outfits, the racy scenes, the inappropriate conversations and the connections between the actors and actresses made this a racy show to watch.

Kim Cattrall plays Samantha Jones, the girl that has seen and done it all. Charlotte York on the other hand is the one that still believes in happy ever after. Cynthia Nixon struggles when it comes to balancing life’s tough realities with love and Carrie Bradshaw plays a writer that delves into New York’s diverse dating scene, revealing the many astounding mating habits of New Yorkers.

Unrealistic expectations, a frank view of sex and relationships and an overabundance of puns are just a few of the factors that make this show so watchable even now – several years after it first aired.

Banshee, another HBO production to pack a punch, reveals several scenes of taut, sexy distraction that have certainly introduced a little raciness to our screens. It’s an action drama that sits somewhere being noir and pulp. The fast-paced plot makes it an easy watch and one that enables the visuals and mood to tell the majority of the story. A starring role played by Antony Starr, as a master thief and ex-con, make it all the more watchable.

Game of Thrones, an American epic fantasy, has to be one of the biggest HBO hits in the last year especially. Its popularity has allowed the producers to up their budget massively for the next series, which means the best is yet to come.

Starks, nudity and scenes of a sexual nature make up a large proportion of this drama. The depictions of violence and sexuality in Georg R. R. Martin’s novel A Song of Ice and Fire appear to have been overstated as opposed to toned down, one of the reasons it’s such a daring watch.

Hung on HBO UK, another lewd drama follows the ups and downs of a former high school sports star. Struggling to pay the bills, he decides to embark on a career as a male prostitute. Hung, with its insinuating title, stars Thomas Jane, Tanya Skagle, Anne Heche, Eddie Jemison, Sianoa Smit-McPhee and Charlie Saxton and as you would expect, there’s a lot of sex and nudity featured in the series, The show lives up to its comical, super-smart pedigree and all in all it’s about a guy who decides to use his best assets as a last resort to get further in life.

Since day one Entourage has showcased the enviable cast hook up with countless attractive girls, whilst sharing the screen with a number of stunning and renowned celebrities including Jessica Alba, Kanye West, Sasha Grey and Eminem. This is possibly why HBO has earned the title of the network with the ‘hottest chicks’. Starring Vincent Chase and his two sidekicks, Turtle and Eric, Entourage offers the audience with an insight into a world in the fast lane. From the celebrated producer Mark Wahlberg, this series showcases a humour-packed and wild look at the extremes of today’s modern A-list lifestyle.

Season two of The Wire showcased Kristin Proctor as the girlfriend of Nick Sobotka. Despite only a brief role, it was extremely memorable and even though the topless scene may have seemed a little pointless at the time, it probably gained The Wire a few more viewers!

Eastbound and Down, another show that often gets a little racy at times – especially when watching an episode that concerns Kenny Power’s buxom brunette elementary school teacher. Following the life of a washed-up, overconfident big league pitcher, we see him set up a new life in a small Mexican town. It is here that he attempts to woo the locals with his amazingness. Starring both Steve Little and Danny McBride, this is certainly worth a watch.

For more information on all of these shows and many others, check out the official HBO website.

Produced in association with HBO.
