Elizabeth Olsen wanted for Scarlet Witch in The Avengers: Age of Ultron?

August 21, 2013 by admin

Back in May it was reported that Joss Whedon was using Saoirse Ronan (Hanna, The Host) as the “prototype” for his take on the Scarlet Witch in 2015’s eagerly-anticipated sequel The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and with the Irish actress subsequently denying the reports linking her to the film, Bleeding Cool has now thrown another name into the mix, claiming that Marvel is now eyeing Elizabeth Olsen for the role of Wanda Maximoff.

Olsen has been earning a name for herself with well received roles in the likes of Martha Marcy May Marlene, Silent House, Liberal Arts and Red Lights, and she also has some big releases incoming, including Kill Your Darlings, Oldboy, Therese and Gozilla – the latter of which also stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, who is strongly tipped to take on the role of Wanda’s brother Pietro, a.k.a. Quicksilver.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is scheduled for release on May 1st, 2015, with Robert Downey Jr. expected to reunite with Avengers stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson.
