Jessica Chastain reportedly turns down female lead in Ant-Man

November 18, 2013 by admin

Very few stars in recent memory have had such a meteoric rise like Jessica Chastain. Her roles in The Help, The Tree of Life, Zero Dark Thirty and the upcoming Interstellar and Crimson Peak have placed her with the Hollywood elite and it seems as if she can now turn down roles with ease.

Although there is yet to be any confirmation as to who will be playing Ant-Man or Janet van Dyne (The Wasp) in Edgar Wright’s upcoming Marvel adaptation, the sporadically reliable El Mayimbe of Latino-Review has revealed via Twitter that Chastain was up for the role of The Wasp but will not be in the movie.

As of right now this is just a rumour and all signs point towards the two lead roles being filled by the incredibly likeable pairing of Paul Rudd and Rashida Jones. The two actors have incredible chemistry in I Love You, Man, and with Edgar Wright directing, Ant-Man is guaranteed to entertain.
