Don Cheadle’s Rhodey to appear in The Avengers: Age of Ultron

December 12, 2013 by admin

We know that Joss Whedon is expanding the roster of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes for The Avengers: Age of Ultron with the addition of Godzilla duo Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen as Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, but it seems that Colonel James Rhodes will also be providing back-up, with reports suggesting that the Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3 star is set to appear in the hotly-anticipated 2015 sequel.

Word of Cheadle’s casting originally stems from USA Today, while Bleeding Cool has seemingly confirmed the story, as well as suggesting that British actor Simon McBurney (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Borgias) is being lined up as “the new Jarvis – not a computer voice Jarvis, mind you, but an actual Butler called Jarvis – or at least called Jarvis by Tony Stark.” As always, it’s probably worth holding off for official confirmation from Marvel on both of these, but considering how long it took them to confirm Taylor-Johnson and Olsen, we might have a wait on our hands.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is set for release on May 1st 2015 with a cast that also includes Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Mark Ruffalo (The Incredible Hulk), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), and James Spader (Ultron).
