Harrison Ford’s broken leg to delay Star Wars: Episode VII?

June 24, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Although the initial word from Lucasfilm was that Harrison Ford’s injury would not severely impact production on Star Wars: Episode VII, it is now being rumoured via Jedi News that filming could be “pushed back by a substanial amount of time” due to the actor suffering a break to his left leg. According to the site, an Episode VII production team met yesterday to discuss how the shoot will be affected by Ford’s recovery time, and with Han Solo said to be one of the main characters of the sequel, there is now a strong possibility that the film could fail to meet its planned December 2015 release date.

Ford is joined in the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII by returning stars Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Kenny Baker (R2-D2) and Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca), while newcomers to the galaxy far, far away include Adam Driver (Girls), Oscar Isaac (Inside Llewyn Davis), Andy Serkis (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Domhnall Gleeson (Dredd), John Boyega (Attack the Block), Daisy Ridley (Silent Witness), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) and Max von Sydow (The Exorcist).
