Eddie Izzard, Oleysa Rulin and Noah Taylor join the cast of Sony’s Powers

August 15, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Sony Television and PlayStation Network’s upcoming adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s comic book series Powers has bolstered its cast with the addition of Eddie Izzard (Hannibal), Oleysa Rulin (High School Musical) and Noah Taylor (Edge of Tomorrow).

According to Deadline, Izzard will play Wolfe – “the bogeyman of the Powers universe —  a top-level Power who has spent the last two decades incarcerated in the Shaft, his terrible abilities kept in check through a brutal regimen of surgical procedures.  Before that, he was a mentor of then-up-and-coming Powers, Christian Walker.”

Taylor is set to appear as Johnny Royalle, “a criminal mastermind rulinPower with the ability to pop in and out of locations at will. He owns a cutting edge underground venue, the Here and Gone Club, that may be part of a dark and deadly conspiracy,” while Rulin will play Calista, “a teenage Power wannabe with street smarts, attitude and vulnerability who is always seeking out her next move.”

The trio will join the previously announced Susan Heyward (The Following) as Detective Deena Pilgrim, Max Fowler (The Killing) as Krispin Stockley and Adam Godley (Breaking Bad) as Captain Cross. The role of Christian Walker is yet to be filled.

Powers is set to land on PlayStation Network in December, with David Slade (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) directing the first two episodes.
