Shortlist of names for Marvel’s Jessica Jones and Luke Cage series revealed

November 19, 2014 by Gary Collinson

With Charlie Cox (Stardust) taking on the role of the Man Without Fear in Marvel’s Daredevil, it looks like the studio is now turning its attention to the subsequent Netflix series.

According to Deadline, Krysten Ritter (Breaking Bad), Alexandra Daddario (True Detective), Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies) and Jessica De Gouw (Arrow) have all been invited to test for the role of Jessica Jones, while Lance Gross (Crisis) and Mike Colter (The Following) are apparently under consideration for the role of Luke Cage.

The site reports that that Jessica Jones will revolved around the character “suffering with post-traumatic stress disorder, which leads to her hanging up her costume and opening her own detective agency, where she ends up helping people and assisting other superheroes.” The report goes on to suggest that Luke Cage will appear in six or seven episodes of Jessica Jones before the launch of his own series.
