Wii U is better value than PS4 or Xbox One, says Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-aime

November 21, 2014 by Tom Powter

Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-aime has said that the Wii U is the best value for money out of all of the available home consoles right now in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.

Explaining the reasons why he thinks people should upgrade to the new system, Fils-aime said: “We convince them with the games. So as an example, you can only play Mario Kart 8–this fabulous game that has sold millions of copies across the world–only on the Wii U because of the enhanced capabilities, the HD graphics, the new elements that we bring to bear for that particular game.”

Fils-aime reinforced the appeal of the Wii U’s ability to play games in stunning HD, referencing the massively anticipated Super Smash Bros for Wii U. While you can play the older iterations of the series, this is the first time the series has been in HD – and it looks gorgeous.

“The good news, for us, is that we’re presenting the best value right now in new home consoles,” Fils-aime went on to say. “$299, includes two games; it’s a compelling proposition for consumers this holiday.”
