Sony and Quentin Tarantino keen on a Django/Zorro crossover movie

December 15, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Back in June it was announced that Quentin Tarantino was working on a Django/Zorro crossover comic book series with Dynamite Entertainment and DC Comics, which was released last month, and now the latest leaked emails from the Sony hack has revealed that QT has been in talks with Amy Pascal about bringing the two characters to the big screen.

According to Business Insider, Pascal contacted Tarantino by email back in September, telling him that she wanted to discuss a Django Unchained / Zorro crossover, as well as a project called The Dion Brothers. Tarantino subsequently replied stating that “D/Z could be really fun!” and expressing his interest in The Dion Brothers, along with another project, The Baby Blue Marine.

Further emails suggest that Sony is eyeing a potential 2017 release date for Django/Zorro, should plans come together. This is the second potential crossover revealed during the Sony hack, with the studio also looking at the idea of a 22 Jump Street sequel set in the world of Men in Black.
