Fox developing a live-action X-Men TV series

January 26, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Back in October it was rumoured that Fox was developing a new live-action show based upon its mutant superhero franchise X-Men.

Well, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that a series is in the works, with Evan Katz and Manny Coto (24) serving as showrunners and Star Trek 3 scribes Patrick McKay and JD Payne penning the script.

The report states that with Fox only owning the movie rights to the X-Men, the final say on a series would fall to Marvel, and at this point, a deal is far from complete.

If an X-Men series does get the go ahead, the Marvel show will find itself in company with rival DC Entertainment’s Batman prequel series Gotham, which currently airs on Fox and has recently been renewed for a second season.
