Chiwetel Ejiofor addresses the rumours of a role in Doctor Strange

February 4, 2015 by admin

Since the announcement of Oscar nominated Benedict Cumberbatch taking on the role of Stephen Strange in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, we’ve not heard much else about the Scott Derrickson directed Phase Three movie.

There was a rumour last month that Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) was set to play a  role in the movie, noted by The Hollywood Reporter to the point where Jeff Snider tweeted, “Chiwetel Ejiofor is DEFINITELY going to be in Doctor Strange, regardless of comment from Marvel & his reps. In conversations later that day, was told he’s NOT being eyed for the villain, but it’s possible there’s a REVEAL that Marvel wants to hide.”

In an interview with Collider to promote his new film Z is for Zachariah, Ejiofor was purposefully keeping quiet about the rumours by simply saying, “You’ll be the first to know.”

Sneaky. Very sneaky.

What do you think about Chiwetel Ejiofor joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Who would you like to see him play?
