Over the weekend it was rumoured that Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black) was in talks for Gareth Edwards’ (Godzilla) standalone Star Wars movie, and now THR is reporting that Disney and Lucasfilm have found their female lead for the 2016 release.
According to the site, Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) is in advanced talks for the ultra-secretive project, having tested earlier this week alongside the likes of Maslany and Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo).
The report also goes on to state that Edgar Ramirez (Deliver Us From Evil) and Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) are both on a shortlist for the male lead, with Paul having previously been rumoured for a part (and having previously denied said rumours).
Edwards’ Star Wars movie is set for release on December 16th, 2016.
