Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars movie rumoured to centre on Han Solo, with Aaron Paul linked to star

December 28, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Back in November we heard a rumour from SlashFilm suggesting that the plot for Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars standable film would centre on a group of bounty hunters tasked with stealing the plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the Death Star.

Well, a completely contradictory report has now surfaced over at fan site Making Star Wars, who are claiming that one of their sources of “legit” information on Star Wars: The Force Awakens has discovered that the Godzilla helmer’s film will in fact feature Han Solo, and that Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad) is looking to be attached “in some fashion” (although they stop short of linking him to Han).

So, it looks like we’re entering the speculation stage on the 2016 release, which means we can no doubt look forward to months of dubious casting and plot rumours before we hear anything official from Lucasfilm and Disney.

Which plot would you rather see for the first standalone Star Wars movie? Let us know your thoughts…
