Ben Foster joins the cast of Ron Howard’s Inferno

March 11, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Ben Foster (3.10 To Yuma, X-Men: The Last Stand) is set to join the stellar line-up for Inferno, the third adaptation of writer Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon series, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

Ron Howard is once again directing the film, which sees Oscar Winner Tom Hanks reprise his role as world-renowned symbologist Robert Langdon, with Oscar nominee Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Omar Sy (Untouchable) and Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi) joining the cast for the new film.

Inferno sees Langdon drawn into a conspiracy to unleash a deadly plague centered on Dante’s Inferno, the 14th century epic poem about the nine circles of hell. Foster is set to play a “scientist who is obsessed with Inferno and has also dreamed up a plot to solve the world’s overpopulation problem by releasing a virus.”

Set to start shooting this Spring, Inferno is set for release in October 2016.
