John Wick directors to helm Valiant’s Bloodshot, Harbinger movie also incoming

April 22, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Back in March comic book publisher Valiant Entertainment announced that it is set to bring its properties to the big screen with the “largest independent superhero universe” in the world, and now we have details of the first two movies in development.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, John Wick directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski are set to direct Bloodshot for release in 2017, with Jeff Wadlow (Kick-Ass 2) and Eric Heisserer (The Thing) penning the script and Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman: the Secret Service) executive producing. The film is based on the comic book of the same name, which tells the story of a soldier brought back from the dead as a weapon for a mysterious government agency.

Following Bloodshot will be an adaptation of Harbinger, which revolves around a group of super powered teen outcasts on the run from the Harbinger Foundation. Eric Heisserer will write the script, but as yet there’s no official word on a potential director.

Are you looking forward to Valiant’s cinematic universe, and what do you make of the talent they’ve assembled for these first projects?
