4 DC Villains That Ben Affleck’s Batman Has To Battle

July 2, 2015 by Samuel Brace

Hush

Hush shares somewhat of a similar background to Black Mask, so a choice would probably have to be made between the two. Having both involved in this new DC universe might come of as a little samey but neither option is any better or worse than the other. Hush is just as engaging as his black masked counterpart and would make a great cinematic addition to the rogues gallery.

Hush aka Tommy Elliot also grew up very wealthy and was actually childhood friends with Bruce. They would often play together, something Bruce’s father appreciated greatly, Bruce was never the most social child. Tommy like Roman Sionis and unlike Bruce, loathed his parents. He was always desperate to be rid of them and to inherit their large fortune for himself. So when he one day decided to cut the breaks of his parents car, killing his father outright, he wasn’t too pleased when Bruce’s father, a doctor, managed to save his mothers life, denying him of her fortune. Things got worse for Tommy when Bruce’s own parents were murdered, leading him to receive his parents entire fortune, the exact scenario Elliot was hoping for himself, all these events and more would come together to fuel a life long hatred towards his one time friend.

Tommy would later become the villain known as Hush when teaming up with Riddler to take down Batman, knowing his true identity of Bruce Wayne. So perhaps Affleck’s Batman could be finding himself up against a two pronged attack, the manic genius of Edward Nigma and the unrelenting personal malice of Thomas Elliot. They would make quite the on screen duo and would provide Batman with plenty to deal with. Whether they go with a team up or decide to give Hush his own outing, he is a great choice to really make things personal with Bruce. Time and time again Hush has come after Bruce and their childhood friendship is something that would create an interesting on screen dynamic. You could do a lot worse than having Affleck go up against a guy who who holds such a passionate vendetta against the man behind the cowl that he actually went to the extreme lengths of surgically altering his own face and finger prints to be identical to that of Wayne, enabling him to take his vengeance to a whole new psychological level. I would pay very good money to see that particular storyline brought to cinemas.
