Green Lantern will not appear in Arrow

Since a sign for Ferris Air was spotted in the season one finale to Arrow, there’s been speculation as to whether Hal Jordan’s Green Lantern could make an appearance in the CW show, while persistent rumours have linked David Ramsey’s John Diggle to that of another Green Lantern, John Stewart.

Well, now that Diggle is getting a (non-Green Lantern) costume [see concept art here] we can safely rule out the John Stewart links, and it seems like the recent news about a Green Lantern Corps movie will also prevent Hal Jordan from making an appearance in the series.

“They announced the Green Lantern Corps movie, and I’d be surprised if it didn’t include Hal Jordan,” said executive producer Marc Guggenheim during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “It would be great [to include him in Arrow] but I doubt it very much.”

This isn’t the first time that Warner’s movie slate has had an impact on Arrow, with Willa Holland (Thea Queen) revealing earlier this year that the producers had big plans for Harley Quinn in the show before Suicide Squad laid them to rest. Quite why the likes of The Flash and The Joker (who is set to appear in season two of Gotham) are exempt from this embargo remains a mystery…
