George A. Romero’s Empire of the Dead to join The Walking Dead on AMC

November 9, 2015 by Gary Collinson

Back in May it was reported that a small screen adaptation of George A. Romero’s Marvel comic book series Empire of the Dead was heading to the small screen, and now artist Arthur Suydam has revealed that AMC has picked up the project.

“[Empire of the Dead] just got signed to AMC. The new big zombie series on AMC is expected to be this one right here,” Suydam told WHAS11 at the Louisville Wizard World Comic Con.

AMC has already enjoyed huge success in the zombie genre with The Walking Dead and its companion show Fear the Walking Dead, but Empire of the Dead does add a little twist to the formula, introducing vampires to the mix.

Are you excited about the prospect of another zombie series on AMC? Let us know in the comments below…
