Tom Holland wants to see Spider-Man exploring his superhero connections in solo movie, Iron Man and Captain America may appear

Now that he’s been officially confirmed for Captain America: Civil War, we can all look forward to our first glimpse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe incarnation of Spider-Man, and Tom Holland has been speaking to Collider about his excitement for taking on the role of the wall-crawler, and what he’d like to see explored in the 2017 solo movie and beyond.

“There’s so many different versions of his story, and my favorite of which at the moment is Ultimate Spider-Man. And the one thing I’m really excited about is that he’s not a superhero that’s on his own, you know? He has connections with some of the most powerful people in this Marvel Universe so I’m quite excited to explore that and see if Marvel will go down that route, you know? Which I’m sure they will. I mean, if they’ve got all these incredible characters at hand, I mean, why not use them, you know?”

As it happens, Robert Downey Jr. may have let slip on Jimmy Kimmel Live that both he and Chris Evans could appear in the Spider-Man solo movie, with RDJ suggesting that the pair would soon be filming together in Atlanta, which just so happens to be the location for the Jon Watts-directed reboot.

Holland will make his debut in Captain America: Civil War, which opens on April 29th 2016 in the UK and May 6th 2016 in the States, while the as-yet-untitled Spider-Man reboot is set for release on July 28th 2017.
