With Pacific Rim 2 on hold indefinitely, it seems that Guillermo del Toro may have found his next project, as The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the filmmaker is in talks with 20th Century Fox and James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment about directing a remake of the 1966 sci-fi classic Fantastic Voyage.
The project would reunite del Toro with Blade II screenwriter David S. Goyer, who is writing the script for the remake with Justin Rhodes (Grassroots) and “revolves around a team of scientists who are shrunk to atomic size and sent in a miniature submarine inside the body of a scientist to save his life.”
