Daniel Craig to headline TV drama Purity

February 14, 2016 by Amie Cranswick

James Bond star Daniel Craig is returning to the small screen, with Deadline revealing that he’s set to headline a new drama series entitled Purity from producer Scott Rudin (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and writer-director Todd Field (In the Bedroom, Little Children).

The project, which is based upon the book of the same name from author Jonathan Franzen, centres on “Pip, a young American woman who does not know who she is, and Andreas, a charismatic German provocateur, the role Craig is expected to play. He heads a South America-based organization that traffics in all the secrets of the world where Pip gets an internship in search of her identity.”

Originally envisioned as a feature, Purity is seeking a 20-episode series order, and has been pitched to Showtime, FX, Netflix, Hulu and Amazon, with Showtime said to have already made an offer.
